Enlarging the main well passage

Enlarging the main well passage

I watched a video with a former holley engineer, who said that you can greatly improve throttle response by enlarging the MW passage to .180 and the angle channel to the booster to .166. Has anyone heard of this mod? This is for 750 DP to Dominators.

Carburetors are designed to have the main jet to be the limiting factor for metering volume of fuel. When you get above 100 Holley jet and no longer makes a difference, try removing the jets. If makes no difference, then you might consider enlarging the angle and booster sizeing. Not much room to play with. Too large of size may reduce velocity.

No, I am not "that" Mark. You want Mark Whitener, AKA jmarkaudio, for the expert answer. He is one sharp guy.

No, I think he means Mark Campbell.
There was quite a bit of BS in that video from Campbell.

My understanding is enlarging the booster passage [ not the main well ] will lean the mixture slightly because the larger size dampens the pulse.
